Gaming Industry Trends in Malaysia

The Malaysian government has identified the games industry as a pivotal economic sector due to this the Government launched Digital Content Grant (DCG) in 2009 to support the development and production of digital content, including animation, digital games and interactive media.

Various measures have been applied to help develop and strengthen the games industry, including the establishment of an incubator (LEVEL UP Inc.) to raise funds and educate the community, and holding of international events (LEVEL UP KL) regularly to promote collaboration among games developers.
